Queen Of Tears surpasses Reply 1988, takes top spot on Netflix and becomes 3rd highest-rated in tvN history

With Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in lead roles, Queen of Tears has broken rating records and become one of the highest-rated K-dramas in tvN history. Not only has this romance comedy outperformed all expectations in the domestic market, but also among audiences worldwide. On April 7, the drama made a spectacular comeback by beginning its second half and skyrocketing to its greatest ratings of the day, leaving every other show in the dust.

Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol, and Park Bo Gum starred in the 2015 Korean drama Reply 1988, which was an audience favourite. However, a new drama has taken the lead, with the third best ratings of any tvN drama to date. Queen of Tears surpassed Reply 1988, and it is only followed by two hit dramas, Crash Landing on You and Goblin. Both Korean dramas were the only ones that crossed the 20% benchmark.

The highest-rated Sunday show of all time is now the K-drama “Queen of Tears.” The series centres on a married couple that faces challenges and gets divorced before finding love again. The most recent episode, which aired on April 8, had an average countrywide rating of 19.0 per cent, according to Nielsen Korea.

Rising to the top of Netflix’s non-English category, Queen of Tears received 4.3 million views this week, making it the most-watched show in this category.
