The locations for the ‘Arcane’ follow-up series have been revealed and ‘League of Legends’ fans will love it

While Arcane may be over, the world of Runeterra is far from finished, with several exciting follow-up projects in the works. During a stream with creator Necrit94, Arcane showrunner Christian Linke revealed that three new animated series set within Runeterra are currently in development. These series will each explore different regions of the world: Ionia, Noxus, and Demacia.

These regions are familiar to League of Legends players and fans of the show, with each offering unique storytelling opportunities:

• Noxus: This region is known for its militaristic and power-driven culture, with characters like Darius, Draven, and Riven already having significant presence in Arcane. It seems like a natural next step for the series, with plenty of potential for expanding on the themes of strength and conflict that are central to Noxus.
• Ionia: Known for its mystical and magical landscapes, Ionia offers a more ethereal setting, perfect for stories involving magic and spiritualism. Iconic characters like Yasuo, Ahri, Akali, and Master Yi hail from Ionia, and this region’s focus on magical abilities could take the story to an even more fantastical level.
• Demacia: This region is a kingdom at war, marked by its strong sense of honor and justice. Champions such as Garen, Lux, and Fiora are key figures in Demacia, and the region’s contrasting values to Noxus—where power often supersedes honor—could set the stage for compelling narrative clashes.

While these projects will feature brand-new stories, there’s also a chance that some of Arcane’s characters and plotlines could continue, giving fans hope for returning favorites. However, since creating animated shows at the scale of Arcane takes time and resources, it might be a while before we get concrete details about the upcoming series.

For now, fans can continue to enjoy Arcane, with all 18 episodes available to stream on Netflix. And with these new shows in development, there’s plenty more to look forward to from the world of Runeterra in the future.
