Kate Middleton ‘threw her hands up in disgust’ when fight to get Prince Harry and Prince William talking again went too far

Kate Middleton has officially claimed the title of the most popular living royal, with a staggering 73% approval rating from the British public. In stark contrast, Prince Harry is struggling with just 27%, largely due to his and Meghan Markle’s departure from royal duties in 2020.

Kate’s high standing is likely bolstered by her perceived distance from the ongoing tensions between Harry and Meghan on one side and Prince William and King Charles on the other. Positioned as a potential peacemaker, Kate has, however, seemingly reached her limit. According to royal expert Christopher Anderson, she spent years trying to mend the fractured relationship between the brothers but ultimately became frustrated with the lack of progress.

Anderson stated that the notion of Kate having the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is unrealistic. After trying for so long without success, she appears to have thrown up her hands in resignation. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams echoed this sentiment, suggesting that Kate is aligned with William in how he’s dealt with Harry, especially after Harry’s portrayal of her as “cold and unwelcoming” towards Meghan in his memoir, *Spare*. This characterization reportedly hurt Kate, as she found it damaging to their relationship.

Despite their past camaraderie, which saw Harry and Kate share a brother-sister-like bond before Meghan entered the picture, it seems the task of uniting the family is more than she can handle. While there may still be goodwill between them, with gestures like Harry sending messages during Kate’s cancer treatment, the underlying tensions remain unresolved. If the brothers want to improve their public standing and ease family tensions, it seems the ball is in their court.
