We finally have confirmation the Avengers still exist in the MCU, and it sets up ‘Doomsday’ perfectly

It’s intriguing how Agatha All Along continues to keep Wanda Maximoff at arm’s length, even while her presence looms over the series. Episode 6’s hint that the Avengers orchestrated a PR cover-up for the events of the Westview hex is a clever twist. Rather than Wanda being universally vilified, the world outside Westview seems to have chalked up the incident to an Avengers “training exercise gone wrong.” This revelation opens up the possibility that, once Wanda inevitably returns, her slate might be cleaner than fans expected.

The Avengers’ cover-up shows a layered motivation. On one hand, they may have genuinely wanted to protect Wanda, who, despite her later actions in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was once a cherished member of their ranks. But from a pragmatic angle, they’d have good reason to avoid another PR disaster, like with the Sokovia Accords, where the world became wary of unregulated superpowers.

This setup now gives Marvel a convenient way to reintroduce Wanda without the need for her to publicly redeem herself. A well-timed resurrection—perhaps with help from Billy, the Witches’ Road, or a mysterious Doctor Doom plot—could allow her to rejoin the Avengers without much of a hitch. If Marvel decides to go this route, it could play out as Wanda dropping into battle and brushing off the past with a line as nonchalant as Rhodey’s classic “Look, it’s me, I’m here, deal with it.”

And the fan theories are already swirling around which Avenger might have spearheaded the cover-up. Clint Barton, who mentored Wanda during her early Avenger days, seems a strong contender, though it’s also possible that “Skrull Rhodey” had a hand in it. Doctor Strange and the magical community still know the truth about Westview, leaving a fascinating question of how Wanda might manage the dual realities of her public image versus the knowledge of those in the mystical world.

All signs point to Wanda’s return, potentially allowing her a fresh start—no apologies needed.
