Joey Graziadei hilariously learns what a dance belt is as he tucks himself in for ‘DWTS’ Disney Night

If there’s one standout star in season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, it’s definitely former Bachelor Joey Graziadei, who has been wowing audiences week after week with his incredible dancing skills. Who knew he had such talent for choreography?

For those who haven’t been following his journey on the show, Joey and his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson, have steadily climbed the leaderboard. They kicked off the season with a Cha-Cha to Tyler Hubbard’s “Dancin’ in the Country,” scoring 21 out of 30. They then impressed the judges with a Rumba to “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper during “Oscars Night,” earning a 22 out of 30. Their performance during “Soul Train Night” featured a lively Jive to “Shout” by The Isley Brothers, scoring a fantastic 34 out of 40, followed by a Tango to “Rock You Like a Hurricane” by the Scorpions, where they received a 36 out of 40 for “Hair Metal Night.”

Their impressive scores didn’t stop there! Last week, they scored 36 out of 40 for their Viennese Waltz to “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims, which was dedicated to Joey’s fiancée, Kelsey Anderson. They also scored 25 out of 30 for their Samba to “Trashin’ the Camp” from Tarzan during “Disney Night” on October 22. Joey looked quite dashing as Tarzan, and fans were definitely loving his long hair!

In addition to their individual performances, Joey and Jenna participated in a group freestyle dance with “Team Goofs” (which included fellow contestants Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, and Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong) during “Disney Night.” They performed a routine to “I 2 I” from A Goofy Movie and scored an impressive 27 out of 30. However, Joey humorously noted that the costume for this group performance might have caused him some discomfort—yikes!

After the show, Joey shared some behind-the-scenes details on Good Morning America, revealing just how uncomfortable his costume was. He joked, “I am so uncomfortable right now. I really hoped I could do the press in my Tarzan outfit, but that didn’t work out. I’d be cold, but this outfit is really tight and a bit painful.” He added that his green suit left little to the imagination in the “downstairs region,” which was definitely causing him some discomfort.

Jenna, who affectionately calls Joey by his full name, Joseph, chimed in, explaining that he wore a dance belt for the first time for “Disney Night.” She referred to it as a rite of passage in the dance world. Joey quipped, “I’d never choose to wear one again. It’s really uncomfortable… We’re at a solid eight out of ten on the discomfort scale right now. I’ve never felt this much pressure in my life!”

Despite the discomfort, Joey was able to laugh about the situation and expressed gratitude for being part of Dancing With the Stars and for being a frontrunner. Will he snag the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy?

To see how Joey and Jenna continue their journey, make sure to catch new episodes of Dancing With the Stars each Tuesday on ABC or Disney Plus. With “Halloween Night” just around the corner, things are about to get spooky on the dance floor!
