Former President Donald Trump had one of his most bizarre rallies yet in Pennsylvania on October 14. During the event, after two medical emergencies occurred in the crowd, he abruptly stopped taking questions and spent over 30 minutes swaying on stage while listening to music. It’s a strange sight that many find hard to explain or defend. Trump’s campaign claimed that the crowd was so thrilled to see him that people were fainting, insisting they stuck around to enjoy his impressive playlist. However, not everyone shares that perspective.
Take, for example, the hosts of The View. On October 10, Trump insulted co-host Sunny Hostin by calling her “dumber than Kamala” and referred to Whoopi Goldberg as “demented.” In response to seeing a clip of Trump swaying on stage, Goldberg expressed her discomfort, saying it “freaked her out” and left her feeling really upset.
Barbra Streisand also weighed in, commenting that Trump’s behavior seemed highly unusual and suggested that there was something seriously off with his mental state. This isn’t the first time Streisand has criticized Trump; back in July, she accused him of failing to recognize that voting is a privilege for Americans and expressed concern that he could “end all that.”
Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, echoed these concerns, saying it was troubling to watch him “decompensating in front of our eyes.” She criticized his family and close associates for not taking any action to help him. In response to a tweet from Kamala Harris’ campaign that referenced an article about Trump canceling a TV interview, Mary simply replied, “No,” when asked if the former president was okay.
The Harris campaign seized the opportunity to mock Trump, tweeting that they “hope” he’s doing well. They’ve been actively promoting claims about Trump’s declining health, stating he appeared “lost, confused, and frozen” on stage. Typically, Trump ends his rallies by playing the 1978 disco hit “YMCA,” but this time, he remained on stage for nine additional songs, ranging from hits by Guns N’ Roses to Elvis, just standing there and listening.
After the music, he interacted with some supporters who lingered, something he usually doesn’t do. As the race intensifies, every little misstep can sway public opinion, and the tension between the parties is sure to escalate as Election Day approaches. Expect to hear a lot more chatter about Trump’s mental health, especially from the ladies on The View.
