Baby develops genius defense mechanism to avoid bath time

From the moment we’re born, life starts throwing things our way that we often don’t want to deal with.

Think about it: whether it’s paying taxes as adults or facing a dentist appointment, those are things nobody looks forward to. When we’re younger, it’s things like going to school or doing chores around the house. Even babies are already experts at trying to escape stuff they don’t want to do, like being strapped into car seats or taking baths.

Most of the time, we can’t avoid these responsibilities. Sure, we might come up with excuses or procrastinate, but eventually, we have to face the music and tackle those obligations.

However, one clever baby on TikTok has found a way to dodge the things she doesn’t want to do, and her antics have inspired tons of viewers to try her method.

In a viral video shared by The Pasini Family, we meet little Annie, who might just become the next viral sensation, taking over the spotlight from that famous baby at the Four Seasons Orlando. When her dad tells her it’s time for a bath, Annie knows exactly what that means, and let’s be honest, she’s not thrilled about it.

Instead of running away or throwing a fit, she opts for a different strategy: she flops down on the floor and pretends to be fast asleep. Her dad tries to wake her up by tickling her, but Annie is committed to her act. It was a solid plan, but sadly for her, she’s still small enough that her dad can easily scoop her up and carry her to the bath. So much for playing dead!

What’s clear from the comments is that Annie has some serious acting chops. She’s got the fake-sleep thing down to an art. Once she gets a little bigger, that skill might really come in handy.

People in the comments also noted that pretending to sleep is a much better tactic than throwing a tantrum or causing chaos. Some even compared her to an armadillo or an opossum that plays dead when it senses trouble.

A lot of viewers have decided to take a page from Annie’s playbook. So next time your boss asks you to do something you’d rather avoid, or you’re feeling overwhelmed at work, just lay down like Annie did. Your boss might not pick you up, but who knows, HR might come knocking!

One commenter even pointed out how great it is that Annie’s dad is the one initiating bath time. According to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Institute for Research on Poverty, kids with involved fathers tend to reap significant benefits, like better grades, fewer behavioral issues, and higher self-esteem compared to kids without involved dads.

The Pasini Family even made a follow-up video showing how they work together in parenting, from bath time to getting ready for bed and tidying up after dinner.

They definitely pulled together to rouse their little drama queen from her pre-bath performance. After all, if one parent was in charge, who would hold the camera?

Unfortunately for Annie, her strategy of pretending to sleep didn’t quite save her from bath time, but hopefully, her viral Oscar-worthy act will inspire many others to give it a shot the next time they’re trying to dodge something they don’t want to do!
