With a major matchup against Ohio State just a week away, Penn State needed to stay focused for their road game against Wisconsin. However, things got tense when starting quarterback Drew Allar left the game with a knee injury just before halftime, making Penn State’s path to victory more challenging.

Allar was having a strong first half, completing 14 of 18 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown, including a second-quarter throw to Nicholas Singleton that gave Penn State an early lead. However, Wisconsin answered back, with Tawee Walker scoring just before halftime to put the Badgers in front and increase the pressure on Penn State’s offense.

The injury left Penn State’s offense shorthanded as Allar limped to the locker room after appearing to hurt his knee during a late-second-quarter sack. Although he returned to the field with his helmet on at the start of the second half, Allar removed it after speaking with coach James Franklin, visibly frustrated that he couldn’t go back in. Franklin later explained that Allar wasn’t mobile enough to continue, though he did not provide specific details on the injury’s severity.

Backup QB Beau Pribula stepped in but struggled initially, with Penn State forced to punt on their first two drives of the half. Allar remained on the sideline, covering his head with a towel, indicating his return wasn’t likely.

Despite the setback, Penn State rallied and secured a 28-13 win over Wisconsin, preserving their undefeated record. With the Ohio State showdown on the horizon, all eyes will be on Allar’s recovery and his availability for the next game.
