Kansas woman dies, visits Hell, and then comes back to life to let us know what it was like

Charlotte Holmes from Wichita, Kansas, gained widespread attention for her extraordinary near-death experience, which she recounted on *The 700 Club* in 2019. During a routine cardiology check-up, her blood pressure unexpectedly spiked, leading to a medical emergency that resulted in her flatlining for 11 minutes.

In her chilling account, Charlotte described a vivid experience of what she believed to be heaven. While her husband, Danny, watched anxiously, she claimed to have seen “beautiful flowers” and felt surrounded by beauty, even though there were none in the hospital room. Charlotte recounted seeing Danny and the medical staff from a distance and later experiencing a stunning vision of heaven itself—lush trees, swaying grass, and a sensation of everything worshipping God through music.

One of the most poignant parts of her story involved a reunion with loved ones who had passed away, including a miscarried son. She noted that everyone appeared youthful and healthy, stating, “They didn’t look old, they didn’t look sick.” This was complemented by a revelation that her son had continued to grow in heaven, a concept that brought her comfort.

However, her experience also included a stark vision of hell, which served as a jarring contrast to the beauty of heaven. Charlotte described hell as a place filled with the smell of rotten flesh and the sounds of screams. This grim vision was presented to her as a warning, with God urging her to share this message with others about the consequences of one’s actions in life.

Charlotte passed away in November 2023, four years after sharing her story, leaving behind her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Her experiences continue to resonate with many, offering a blend of hope and caution about the afterlife.
